As a CPA with over 15 years of experience leading internal audit, compliance, and regulatory engagements, Velvet has gained a full prismatic view of risk, and how it affects teams and organizations. She has worked in various New York State agencies and not-for-profit organizations providing risk management, assurance support, and contributing to the overall strong governance of the organizations she serves.

Velvet is known for her ability to build interpersonal relationships that foster cohesion and lead to operational excellence. Prior to her consulting career, Velvet held various leadership positions which include both Managing Director of Internal Audit at a major non-profit organization as well as Assurance Manager at a top-rated public accounting firm.

Velvet holds a bachelor's degree in business administration & accounting from Baruch College.  As a Senior Accountant, she is passionate about working with organizations that align with her values and continually seeks out opportunities that allow her work with others who are committed to tackling today’s tough business issues.
